First Milestones

Been a while, so here is what has happened since.

Work updates - Wrapped up my work at Akamai for the Summer (on Aug 3rd). Since then its just been a long uncertain period about the future. I've had to selectively sit for certain companies during our placements (companies come to our campus to recruit freshers - either for internships or for a full time offer).

In the end Akamai reached back out for a conversion and I'm glad that the wait is finally over. I'll be returning back to the GHost Blr development team, part CTG (Cloud Technology Group) at Akamai, under the Edge Servers division. Cannot wait to get back to an amazing work experience with the team, and this time have an oppourtunity to work on the core edge CDN at Akamai.

Caffine addiction updates - Purchased some more coffee beans since the last post - Elkhill Estates (from Blue Tokai bluetokaicoffee.com) and Micro Climate (from ARAKU Coffee arakucoffee.in). I am yet to make a list of cafes that i'd like to visit in town. So far i've only been Ground Up Coffee & Roasters (groundupcoffee.in), KAHALE (share.google) besides the regular Blue Tokai or Third Wave Coffee.

Dusty camera - It has been a little over a year since I created my unsplash account (@adihegde) and i've crossed the 1 million view mark. However it has been a whlie since i've even used my camera. Since the start of summer, i've only used it to take pictures of the cats that keep coming to our balcony, seeing that view count wants me to get back to using it regularly again.

Ugh. College - And for less interesting news and also a relief at the same time, its my final year. Can't wait to college wrapping up at the same time because so I can get back to work at Akamai. A new chapter, and looking forward to it!

Communities - Nathan, Yashmitha Anshul and I have passed on the core team to our juniors. We left it at a point where we want to detatch homebrew from our college club HSP for independence and to try and start a community. Groups like Arcane Systems Reading Group (literally run by a single person), ATLAS (started by friends of Nathan at Amrita who i've had a chance to talk to), Bengaluru Systems (starting their own book club) and many more bigger ones like Software Internals Discord by Phil Eaton and the many other system programming meetups are things that i've pictured homebrew to be in. Wish we had some more time in hand, would have been a great experience trying to help bootstrap this group, but hopefully we have put down the stones for the pavement for homebrew with our term :)
